Beluga Lagoon signs publishing with The Bothy Society

The Bothy Society is excited to announce a new chapter in our journey, as we officially launched our music publishing division in 2024. Our mission is to amplify the voices of exceptional artists, and we are proud to kick off by administering the composition rights of Andrew O’Donnell, the creative force behind Beluga Lagoon.

Andrew O'Donnell is not only a talented musician but also a wildlife cameraman and filmmaker, whose music draws inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of Scotland's natural landscapes. Beluga Lagoon’s sound transports listeners to the heart of Scotland’s wilderness, evoking the tranquility of glens, rivers, and the rugged sea. His ability to capture the essence of nature through his songs has earned him a loyal fanbase, as seen in sold-out performances at venues such as Aviemore and Glasgow's iconic Barrowland Ballroom.

O'Donnell's approach to music is deeply introspective, reflective of his background as a wildlife cameraman. The patience and observation required for his day job translate into the rich storytelling and emotional depth of his songwriting. Whether performing solo or with a full band, O'Donnell’s live performances strike a unique balance of vulnerability and boldness, resonating deeply with audiences.

Beluga Lagoon's songs often celebrate the resilience and beauty of nature, with tracks like "The Glen" paying homage to Scotland’s wild and enduring landscapes. With this signing, The Bothy Society aims to further O'Donnell’s reach, fostering new creative and financial opportunities for him and other writers within the Traditional and Folk music scenes across Scotland.

We look forward to this partnership and the opportunity to support more incredible talent in the Scottish music industry. Stay tuned for more exciting collaborations from The Bothy Society as we continue to grow our roster and bring new voices to the forefront of traditional music.
